Pasteis de Belem!

As you know, many of my orchestra members have many talents. Many of them play multiple instruments or have a hobby on a professional level. Such as our singer Madieke. Her grandfather had a bakery where she went to help every holiday and every weekend as a little girl. So you can say baking is her genes. 
Today Madieke and friends from the orchestra went to the most famous bakery in Lisbon, where since 1837 the delicious Pasteis de Belem are baked. Originally, they were made by monks in the city of Belem. The secret recipe had been passed on for centuries and known exclusively to the master confectioners who hand-crafted the pastries in the ‘secret room’, this recipe remained unchanged to the present day.

And guess what? When the master chef heard that Andre was in town, Madieke was allowed into the kitchen! She baked a lot of Pasteis de Belem, for Andre and the whole orchestra!
