André Rieu & Friends (Maastricht VII) For me, making music means making people happy with music. When I go on stage and see all those faces before me in the concert hall, full of anticipation of what is to come, I can already feel my enjoyment of all the lovely melodies we are going to play that evening.

But making music is something else as well. It is also bringing people together and giving people the opportunity to experience something together. After these evenings the audience go home with the feeling that they’ve made friends with each other. That is the enormous power of music. And that doesn’t only apply to the people in the concert hall. We, the musicians on the stage, also feel it. If you make music together, it brings you closer. You are listening to each other, responding to each other and you are trying to get the very best from yourself and the others too. Honestly, for me there is nothing more beautiful in life than making music with and for friends!

This evening in Maastricht with ‘friends’ from all over the world, both on stage and in front of us on the square, was one of the most beautiful I have ever experienced.

With love,
André

Rieu Royale - André Rieu Coronation Concert Live in Amsterdam "The most beautiful day of my musical career and the crowning glory of my work!” This is how André Rieu himself describes the concert he gave in Amsterdam with his Johann Strauss Orchestra to close the festivities around a historic event: the investiture of King Willem Alexander and Queen Máxima. In front of an audience of tens of thousands of cheering people, he gave a Coronation Concert on 30 April 2013 on Museum Square in Amsterdam. For anyone who was not able to get to Amsterdam on that day, the live recording of this festive concert offers you the chance of feeling you were there. A unique concert, naturally with the Coronation Waltz that André Rieu wrote especially for the occasion, fabulous images of the new King and Queen, the formal investiture, the lovely young princesses, an emotional musical thank-you to the abdicating Queen Beatrix and an ecstatic audience who by the end no longer knew whether they were singing for the new King or for the king of the waltz.. It was one great big Orange party! As well as the Coronation Concert of over 90 minutes, the DVD includes an interview with André Rieu in which he explains how he came to receive the honour of this invitation and how he looked forward to this very special day. You can see the preparations for the concert and feel yourself at André’s side as the tension rises in the run-up to the coronation concert. Finally you can see pictures of André meeting King Willem Alexander and Queen Máxima at the Royal Palace. This is a unique DVD that you really cannot miss!
Live in Brazil Everyone knows the Samba is the National Dance of Brazil - but that changed in 2012 when André Rieu played his first ever concert series in Brazil's hustling and bustling commercial capital of Sao Paulo. "it's a record. A sold-out concert thirty times in one city. We are really proud of that. So many memories of people waltzing, the laughter, the tears of the Brazilians. We will never forget all that." And it's one of Andre many talents that he always finds the right mix between classics and hidden gems of his genre like "Nessun Dorma", his signature tune "The Beautiful Blue Danube" or "Ballad For Adeline" while tapping into the rich tradition of local repertoire. For "Live In Brazil" that ranges from "Manha de Carnaval" to the 2012 global smash "Ai Seu Te Pego" keeping the audience off their seats and dancing in the aisles for long stretches of the 90 minutes of the show.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! A celebration of 25 years of the Johann Strauss Orchestra It always gives me great pleasure to host our summer evening concerts on the beautiful Vrijthof square in my home town of Maastricht. But this time we had something extra to celebrate: a silver jubilee! The Johann Strauss Orchestra and I have been appearing on stage together for 25 years this year. Every reason to revisit some of the highlights of our career: Frédéric Jenniges with his zither, Carla Maffioletti with her virtuoso aria Adèle’s Laughing Song (Mein Herr Marquis), the Mastreechter Staar male voice choir, the Platinum Tenors, the seductive Carmen Monarcha with Habanera, Kimmy Skota with the emotional Casta Diva, a reunion with our Russian friends from St Petersburg, and much more... I warmly invite you to share with us in our celebrations.
Under The Stars: Live In Maastricht V Fall in love again with André Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra as they bring you a colourful concert with over two-hours of beautiful melodies under the star-studded summer skies. Once again André Rieu transformed the Vrijthof square in his hometown Maastricht into a grand, romantic open-air concert hall with room for about ten thousand people for his traditional summer evening concerts. André returns to Maastricht bringing with him two wonderful guest choirs – the Harlem Gospel Choir and the Soweto Gospel Choir – and a very special guest: Oscar-winning actor Sir Anthony Hopkins! The Hollywood-based star is a great admirer of André Rieu and wrote a piece called “And The Waltz Goes On” specially with Rieu in mind. André Rieu performed it in Maastricht for the first time for such a large crowd. One of the stunning spectacles of the night is soprano soloist Mirusia Louwerse performing Mary Poppins' “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” and flying through the air, high above the wonder-struck audience. “Under The Stars” contains 24 tracks and guest appearances by the South African Soweto Gospel Choir, The Harlem Gospel Choir, the St. Petersburg trio, local act 'Ziesjoem', Rieu's sopranos Mirusia Louwerse, Kimmy Skota and the Platin tenors in a romantic summer evening setting. From spirituals to musicals, and folk songs to waltzes; this is a glorious and thrilling celebration of music!

In front of his fireplace Rieu tells a Christmas tale and explains the viewer how he celebrates Christmas with his loved ones. "I would never be away from my family around the holidays – especially now since I can enjoy the glowing faces of my grandchildren and their excitement when they see the Christmas tree and the gifts waiting underneath. I travel around the world for the whole year working hard to bring music and joy to my audiences and fans but I am always home for Christmas." "Home For Christmas" includes special guest performances by The Royal Choir Society Mastreechter Staar, The Sjamaes Children's Choir and 10 year old ballerina Rosa. A complete surprise for André is the moment when he comes unsuspecting into the Marble Hall of the fabulous Belvedère Castle and is presented with the Gold Medal of Honour in recognition of his role as a true ambassador of Viennese music to the whole world. André Rieu Live in Maastricht 4, A Midsummer Night's Dream (NTSC) After a successful South African tour in 2010, the Vrijthof concerts were all about Africa that year. André invited the South African soloists from the tour to take part in this summer’s Vrijthof concerts: the fantastic young soprano Kimmy Skota from Cape Town, the Bloemfontein Children’s Choir and the children from the Hout Bay Music Project provided a real South African atmosphere. This fabulous summer evening concert also featured the sopranos Mirusia Louwerse and Carmen Monarcha, the Platinum Tenors and the Berlin Comedian Harmonists. The evening has an upbeat end with a guest appearance from DJ Ötzi. This is a truly fantastic concert that you really can’t miss!
